TOUR ISLAS BALLESTAS / NATIONAL RESERVE FROM PARACAS – ½ DAY
The National Reserve of Paracas is located 30 minutes south of the province of Pisco and 285km of Lima. It’s a beautiful place due to its history and its great variety of birds, many of which are migrating. It counts with a variety of beaches very recommended to spend a weekend, especially in summer time. In the National Reserve of Paracas we have the most representative bird “the flamingo” (according to history, this is from which the colors of our flag was born). Its diverse beaches are its main touristic attractions and the Ballestas Island is very visited by national and foreign tourists. Marine birds like the followings also outstand; the Peruvian piquero, the guanay, the pelican, the Peruvian gaviotin, the zarcillo, the elegant gaviotin that eats small fishes, mollusks and crustaceans on the surface of the ocean and the sea lions like the penguins of Humbolt.

Program Description:
Passengers will be picked up from the hotel in Paracas or bus terminal. Then we transfer in order to board a private and fast speedboat from the pier, registration and check in of the passengers in the control entrance in Chaco and start boarding the equipped yatches with all the safety. We start the tour close to the San Martin port. During our trip on the sea we will have a panoramic view of the figure on the mountain called El Candelabro (The Candelabrum). Enigmatic hieroglyphic similar to the Nazca Lines. We continue until we arrive to the Ballestas Island where we observe the resident migrating birds like; Cormoran, Piquero, Zarcillo and the famous penguins of Humboldt among other birds. We will also see a great number of sea lions in different areas that many times welcome us in our visit. Finally, after one hour of journey, we return until we arrive to the private boarding zone of Paracas bay to have some time to walk around or enjoy shopping. After lunch we will form to go to the National Reserve of Paracas to see the interpretation saloon of the National Institute of natural resources in charge of preserving the flora and fauna of the area. We continue the journey by the beach called Yumaque to observe more bird species and then visit the isthmus of the peninsula of Paracas from where we can see the Paracas Bay, Lagunillas Beach, and La Playa Roja, very famous in the zone due to its red sand color. We can observe birds and part of the marine fauna. We finally return to Paracas to stay at the hotel.
