INCA TRAIL KM 104 TO MACHU PICCHU – 2 DAYS

The Inka trail of 2 days is one of the shortest routes of this journey, we start on 104 km crossing along impressing vegetation and mountain until we arrive to Wiñay – Wayna (2550 above sea level), important archeological zone that involves the Inka Trail. The journey is about 5 hours until we arrive to Machu Picchu. Its difficulty is moderate, especially for those who would like to enjoy of a short walk to Machu Picchu.

Itinerary:

1st Day:
In the morning we pick you up at your hotel in our private transportation that will bring you to the train station. After a train trip for few hours enjoying of a beautiful landscape, we will arrive to 104 km from the route Cusco – Aguas Calientes which is our start point of our walk. Here we will go down the train and cross the Vilcanota River to go to the corresponding control in order to enter and start our route. After a 3 hour walk we will arrive to the archeological center of Wiñay Wayna (2550 meter above sea level). We will visit its most important places and few meters in front we will arrive to a small place to rest and have a delicious lunch. After a short rest we will continue through the Inka trail until we arrive to Inti Punku and then to the bus station to Machu Picchu to go down to Aguas Calientes where we will spend the night at a hotel, dinner and briefing for our next 2 day journey.

2nd Day:
After breakfast at the hotel, we will walk or take the first bus to go to the archeological park of Machu Picchu, with a lot of luck we will see the sunrise, once we reach the archeological center, our guide will show the most important zone of the citadel for about 2 hours and a half, we will have enough time to know more about this place. Finally, at a prudent time we will go down to Aguas Calientes to have lunch, we will then take the train back to Ollantaytambo and then we will go to Cusco by bus.
