PISCO INFORMATION
The province of Pisco (17 m above sea level), is a city of the south center of Peru, capital of Ica (400m above sea level), situated at 290k SE of Lima (3m above sea level) at the shore of the Peruvian ocean. South to river mouth of Pisco. The city comprises the town known as Pisco Pueblo el Puerto and the Malecon (pier) known as Pisco Playa. Currently, it has industrial activities as cotton ginning and some other related with the export of flour and fish oil, textiles, chocolates, guano of the islands, etc. At the moment, Pisco is developing at a slow pace due to the last earthquake that left this city devastated almost to a 95% of this province. It counts with many tourism attractions in its surrounding, like the National Reserve of Paracas, Ballestas Island, and the archeological zone of Tambo Colorado, beaches and especially its delicious and varied food.
