INKA TRAIL BY SALKANTAY TO MACHU PICCHU – 4 DAYS
The journey to Salkantay is a very well-known route as one of the adventure alternatives that brings you to Machu Picchu. It is an open trekking for all national of foreign tourist without limitations, spaces or permits. This way to Salkantay starts in a place called Soraypampa 3800m above sea level, 5 hour trip. This alternative route makes you know Machu Picchu in a short time with beautiful landscapes. Enjoy of a new alternative way full of excitement ad adventure.

1st Day:
In the morning we will pick up all passenger from their hotel in our private transportation to start our journey to Soraypampa (3800m above sea level), in this place we will know our journey team who will come with us during our trip: porters, cook, assistants with mules in order to carry our camping equipment and food. We start the trekking crossing a place called Papa of Salkantay; to arrive the highest point between Salkantay and Umantay (4600m above sea level), from here we will see the snow-covered glacial which has the same name. After 4 hours of trekking upwards, we will arrive to an adequate place to have lunch, after resting we will continue for about 3 more hours until we arrive to our first camping, known as Chaullay (2900m above sea level) (lunch / dinner).
2nd Day:
After breakfast we fix our equipment and we continue passing by Arraniyuc community (2600m above sea level), we continue downhill across the local vegetation observing hot springs in a valley close to Santa Teresa River, here we will also see a great variety of Orchids and beautiful waterfalls, arriving to our camping called La Playa (2300m above sea level), it is until this point that our porters and horses will come with us. The option here is; that we continue in a local transportation until the community of Santa Teresa (1700m above sea level) in order to enjoy the hot springs with previous coordination with the group and guide (breakfast / lunch / dinner).
3rd Day:
Breakfast and then we start our trekking uphill to Runcucaray archeological center (3980m above sea level), we will see important vestiges of the Inka culture. We will continue our journey until we arrive to the ruins of Sallaymarca (3620m above sea level), place where we will have lunch. In the afternoon we will continue walking and observing how the geography will change, from mountain dry to semi tropical green in the jungle. In this journey we will find the archeological zone Phuyupatamarca (3599m above sea level) and finally arrive to the last campsite called Wiañaywayna (2550m above sea level) (breakfast / lunch / dinner).
4th Day:
Breakfast will be early in the morning and then we will start our journey to the sun gate called Inti Punku (2745m above sea level) in order to observe the sunrise with an impressing view to the citadel of Machu Picchu (2400m above sea level), we will go down and cross this magical place in a guided visit the most important areas for about 2 hours and a half. Finally, we will have some time to explore and then go down for lunch to Aguas Calientes (2000m above sea level) and then take the train back to city of Cusco arriving late at night (breakfast).
