TREKKING COLCA CANYON, COSÑIHUAR ROUTE – 03 DAYS

This walk to Colca Valley is one of the most visited places and for those lovers of beautiful nature and who like adventure. The difficulty is moderate. It has a subtropical weather, very sunny during the day and cold at night. And semitropical inside the canyon an average of 28 to 30° during the day. In the months of December to March there is rain during the afternoon with a warm temperature at night.

Our itinerary:

1st DAY:

Hotel pick up between 3am and 3:30am in a private bus to go to Colca Valley Canyon, stopping at Chivay (3599m above sea level) at the control gate. Then, we will continue to Cruz del Condor viewpoint, here we will enjoy of the condor flight for about one hour and half. Then we will continue to arrive to the Cabanoconde town (3287m above sea level), this is where we will have lunch and will get ready to start our journey to the canyon going through San Miguel Pampas, where we will appreciate part of our journey. We will start going down to San Juan de Chuccho town, in a four hour journey until we arrive to Colca river, we will cross a hanging bridge and enjoy a beautiful view and see a great variety of native fruits and medicinal plants, finalizing our journey at Cosñihuar town, this is where we will have dinner and share their daily routine with a local family.

2nd DAY:

Early in the morning after breakfast, we will continue our walk going through towns of the place until we arrive to Sangalle, known as Oasis where we will rest and have a bath in the pools. Here we will have lunch, resting and getting ready to go up for about 3 hours to Cabanoconde (3287m above sea level). Here, we will have dinner and spend the night in a very comfortable place.

3rd DAY:

In the morning after breakfast, we will walk until we arrive to the viewpoint of Achachihua from this point we will have a nice view of the valley and canyon. We will arrive to Cabanoconde and finally to Chivay district (3599m above sea level) to the hot springs of La Calera where we will enjoy of its relaxing waters for about 1 hour. At lunch time we will return to Arequipa City at 6:30pm. This is how we will finish this amazing adventure.
