Discover one of Arequipa’s most impressive natural treasures on this half-day tour to the Salinas Lagoon, located within the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve. Surrounded by majestic volcanoes, this high-Andean lagoon changes its colors depending on the season and becomes home to elegant Andean flamingos and a wide variety of wildlife. Itinerary

The excursion begins around 6:00 AM with pick-up from hotels located in the historic center of Arequipa. After a scenic drive, will arrive at the town of Chiguata, where will enjoy breakfast and admire beautiful landscapes.

We will then continue for approximately one hour, making short stops at Alto Simbral (4,200 m.a.s.l.) to appreciate the local flora. Soon after, will reach the Salinas Lagoon, where you can marvel at the stunning pools that reflect the surrounding nature, and observe representative bird species (especially from January to March), as well as vicuñas, llamas, and alpacas throughout the year.

During the dry season (April to December), will visit the traditional salt extraction areas, where imagination makes for spectacular photographs. Finally, after enjoying this beautiful natural wonder, will return to the city center, arriving at approximately 1:30 PM.
