Choquequirao, this archaeological site of is located in the department of Apurimac between the Apurimac and Urubamba rivers and the majestic Salkantay, befits an Inca resistance movement. Itinerary: Pickup from the hotel at 5.00 am and then travel in our transportation till Cachora village. Arrive after 4 hrs and then we have breakfast, then get ready our equipment on mules and start walking. After 2 hours of walking, we arrive to Capuliyoc (2915masl) where we have a spectacular view of the mountain range as the peaks of Padrayoc, Wayna Cachora and the first view of the valley of the Apurimac. Then descend toward Coca Masana (2335masl) where the climate is warmer, the flora and fauna begin to change. Finally we arrive at Playa Rosalina (1555 masl) located next to the Apurimac River where we will settle and spend the first night. Camp and dinner. This day is the hardest day. After breakfast we start with a steep road for about 5 hours. Along the way we will observe many orchids and wild flowers as well as a variety of birds. Then will continue the walk till arriving at Raqaypata community where we leave our equipment, then continue to the archaeological site of Choquequirao (3037masl) when we arrive here we will spend about 1 hour to appreciate the sunset, we can see all a game of projections of light that makes this a place eminently mystical and if we are lucky we can see the flight of the condors in the canyon of the Apurimac to finally return to Raqaypata camp where we spend the second night. We wake up early to start the walk to the archaeological site of Choquequirao to watch the sunrise, after visit this stunning inca place with the guide, we will have time to explore the place for about two hours, then return to Raqaypata for lunch after rest will continue walk down to Chikiska, where we will spend the third night. camp and dinner. We wake up at 6:00 am to start the hike at 7:40 am, we will continue walk up the mountain till Capulilloc, in the route we will see a variety of flora, mosses, ferns and giant cacti, orchids and biodiversity of birds and if we’re lucky we’ll see the quetzal bird represents the jungle region of Guatemala and the spectacled bear. In Capulilloc we will have our lunch, after rest we’ll walk till Cachora arriving in the afternoon, here we will take the bus to back to Cusco arriving aprox. 19hrs.
