Arequipa Colca Valley Trek 2 Days

Our itinerary comprises in Colca canyon trek:

Day 1: Arequipa | Colca Valley | Sangalle Oasis

After hotel pickup, you will travel approximately three hours to the town of Chivay, where will enjoy a nutritious breakfast. The first stop is the famous Cruz del Cóndor, located at 3,600 meters above sea level. Here, will have about 40 minutes to admire the panoramic views and, if lucky, see the majestic Andean condors soaring over the canyon—a truly unforgettable experience.

Next, will continue by vehicle to San Miguel (3,200 meters), the starting point of your trek. Will have a few minutes to organize your backpack before beginning a three-hour descent into the canyon, marveling at the stunning depths, flora, and fauna along the way.

You will cross a bridge to reach the community of San Juan de Chuccho (2,230 meters), where will enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by a local family—a genuine taste of Andean culture. From here, will trek another three hours to the Sangalle Oasis (1,900 meters), an idyllic spot perfect for relaxing in its natural pools and enjoying the tranquility before spending the night.

Day 2: Sangalle Oasis | Ascent to Cabanaconde | Chivay | Arequipa

The second day begins very early. You will start a three- to four-hour ascent to the highest part of the canyon. Along the way, witness a spectacular sunrise as the first rays of sunlight illuminate the canyon, creating an incredible landscape.

Upon reaching the top, will have time to rest and reflect on your amazing achievement. Then, will continue walking to Cabanaconde (3,300 meters), where a well-deserved breakfast awaits.

Next, will board the transport to continue the journey. Along the way, will stop at Antahuilque viewpoints to admire the ancient agricultural terraces that decorate the canyon slopes. We will also visit the hot springs, a perfect place to relax your muscles and recover after the trek.

Finally, continue to Chivay for lunch. Afterward, start the journey back to Arequipa, making a last stop at the Volcano Viewpoint (4,190 meters) to enjoy spectacular views before returning to the city, marking the end of this exciting adventure.
