Cusco and Puno Travel Peru 8 Days

Day 01:  Marvelous Cusco and Puno – Acclimatize

Arrival to Cusco city, capital of the Inca Empire. Greeting at the airport and transfer to the chosen hotel. The rest of the day will be to acclimatize, which is very good for your health and to avoid altitude sickness.

Day 02: Tour to the Sacred Valley of the Incas – Machu Picchu

After having breakfast in the hotel, we will start by gathering all customers at 8am from their different hotels in our bus and then head across the Sacred Valley of the Incas, visiting the district of Pisaq and its market as well as its archeological zone. Then we will continue along the Vilcanota River until we arrive to Urubamba, where we will have a delicious lunch.

We will then visit the archeological zone of Ollantaytambo and the guide will then leave you at the train station in Ollantaytambo to travel to Machu Picchu for about two hours until Machu Picchu, greeting at the station in Aguas Calientes and transfer you to the hotel. At 7pm the guide will visit you at your hotel to provide a briefing about our visit to Machu Picchu.

Day 03: Tour to Machu Picchu – Marvelous Cusco and Puno

Breakfast in the hotel and then we will embark the bus for about 30 minutes until we arrive to the main entrance of Machu Picchu. Here we will have the credential checks and start a guided visit that has a length of 2 hours and a half across the rescinds, After the guided visit you will have free time to continue visiting other zones in Machu Picchu.

Finally we will go down to Aguas Calientes to have lunch and then take the train to Ollantaytambo. Here someone will wait for you to bring you back to Cusco city on bus.

Day 04: Cusco city tour

Breakfast in the hotel. The rest of the morning will be for resting and acclimatize. At 1pm in the afternoon we will come in our private bus to pick you up and start the tour in the city. Visiting the Cathedral, Koricancha site museum, the archeological zones of Saccsayhuaman, Qenqo and Tambomachay. After 4 hours of visiting we will return to the city of Cusco, ending in the main square. Accommodation.

Day 05: Tour in the route of the sun from Cusco to Puno

After breakfast in the hotel, at 6:30am we bring you to the bus terminal so you can travel to the city of Puno. During your journey you will visit tourist places like Andahuaylillas, Raqchi, La Raya and Pukara, you will as well have a delicious lunch on the way. This trip will be done in a group with a professional guide and with service on board.

Once you arrive to the city of Puno, they will transfer you to the hotel and provide you with a briefing of our visit the next day. Rest.

Day 06: Tour to the island of Uros – Amantaní Island in Puno

Breakfast in the hotel, at 7a, we will pick up all passengers from their different hotels to bring you to the embarkation, after the guide’s introduction we start the trip. The first place to visit is Uros Island. This place is known for the skills at home of their habitants and their artisanal embarkation made of Totora.

After this visit of about 50 minutes, we will continue to the Island of Amantaní, here we will have lunch and you will accommodate at a local family’s house. We will have the rest of the afternoon to see the sunset. Dinner and accommodation in a local family’s home.

Day 07: Amantaní Islands – Taquile – Puno.

After breakfast in the morning at a local family’s home we will continue for about 2 hours until we arrive to the island of Taquile, this place will be visited almost all day where we will know the costumes of the people. Taquile is known for the people’s warmth and the ability in making textile. Finally we return to the city of Puno arriving at 4:30pm, transfer to the hotel. Accommodation.

Day 08: Transfer to the airport.

We will bring you to the airport or the bus terminal, for your return trip.
